The Katsina police command says it has arrested a 53-year-old man who produces bulletproof charms for bandits and criminals.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Gambo Isah, the police spokesperson in the state, said the suspect resides at Maiduguri Road in Sabuwa LGA of the state.
Isah said the suspect was arrested on November 26 following a tipoff.
He said the suspect produced and sold the bulletproof charms to bandits and other criminals in Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara states for N60,000 per piece.
He added that the suspect was arrested with four bulletproof charms enveloped in jackets.
The suspect, according to Isah, also confessed that he offered prayers regularly for bandits for successful operations, against being arrested or harmed by security agents.
