As part of efforts to ensure that the cocktail industry is recognized as an essential part of the Nigerian beverage industry, all is set for the Lagos Cocktail Week (LCW).
The three-day event which has been scheduled to kick off on the 16th and end on the 18th of October, 2018 will be held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Launched in Nigeria four years ago by Eventi Cocktails, the LCW has had participation from leading Nigerian and international partners and brands including: Johnny Walker, Ketel One Vodka, Ciroc, Tanqueray 10, The Wheatbaker and Intercontinental Hotel. The event has on location the best bars in Lagos, with sensational displays by top mixologists in the business.
In a release made available to TheLagosTimes, founder of LCW, Lara Rawa disclosed that the event is known as the place where cocktail enthusiasts and international drinks brands come together in a vibrant atmosphere of the cocktail village with highlights like a conference and the much-anticipated bar battle on the final day.
According to her, the 2018 edition of the conference will also mark the commencement of the LCW2018 Awards, which serves as a platform for the celebration and promotion of the cocktail culture in Nigeria and recognition of outstanding achievers in the industry.
“This is in line with our mission which has always been for the cocktail industry at to be recognized as an essential part of the Nigerian beverage industry. Expectations for the 2018 edition of the conference are high, with celebrities and influencers participating in a bar crawl on the 4th of October to promote the LCW. This will be followed by the LCW itself, which kicks off on the 16th of October. The grand finale of the conference will take place on October 18th and will feature the popular bar battle and the LCW Awards.
“The LCW2018 is looking to take things a notch higher in 2018. We are engaging other leading international brands and individuals to make it bigger than ever. Our theme this year is ‘vintage, fresh, original,’ which is meant to depict the evolution of the drinks and cocktail industry in Nigeria”, she said.
