President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for France to attend the Global Financing Pact Summit convened by the French President, Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
This was disclosed by his Media Aide, Dayo Olusegun via Twitter on Tuesday.
Olusegun, who shared a video of Tinubu’s departure, wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu heads to France ahead of the Global Financing Pact Summit convened by President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. New Acting IGP Egbetokun and the newly appointed Service Chiefs line up to bid him farewell. Mr President is billed to return to Nigeria on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Dele Alake, had earlier disclosed in a statement that the president, while in Paris, will “participate, review and sign a New Global Financial Pact that places vulnerable countries on priority list for support and investment, following devastating impact of climate change, energy crisis, and after effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Alake, President Tinubu and the other global leaders, multilateral institutions, financial experts and economists will take a more holistic look at the recovery of economies from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and rising cases of poverty, with a view to providing access to finance and investment that will leverage inclusive growth.
