The Presidency has sacked with immediate effect Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters.

Dr. Reuben Abati announced the sack this Tuesday afternoon without giving any reason for the action. Abati added that a replacement for Alhaji Gulak will be announced in due course.

“President Jonathan thanks Alhaji Gulak for his services to the present Administration and wishes him success in his future endeavours,” Abati added in the statement.

Reports said Gulak’ sack might not be unconnected with his recent political activities which angered some people in the corridors of power.

He had his cup full when he locked horns with the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, over the former’s activities in the state.

He was reported to have travelled to Uyo two weeks ago to inaugurate a pro-Jonathan group, whose membership included people who are opposed to the State Governor, Akpabio, whose closeness to President Jonathan can be likened to that of a set of conjoined twins.

He was subsequently reported to the President by Governor Akpabio.

Gulak, former speaker of the Adamawa House of Assembly is a lawyer by profession. in Gulak, Adamawa State.
