·         How he released information commissioner, Yusuf Olaniyonu to strengthen Saraki’s media and propaganda team

Many a man would readily wish upon his associate or underling, an atrocious life at the latter’s slightest show of betrayal. Many more would wish upon their betrayer, the fires and ice of hell and scorn of successive generations but Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), two-time governor of Lagos State and founder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is no such man, according to his closest friends and associates.

That is why Tinubu a.k.a Jagaban will wish no vile or comeuppance on Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, they claim. Governor Amosun, according to Jagaban’s loyalists, has been involved in a devious plot to sterilize Tinubu politically and socioeconomically. The Ogun State governor, contrary to the rules of decency and moral obligations to a benefactor, has allegedly joined hands with forces against Tinubu in the APC, to pull Tinubu down and destroy him politically. Amosun according to sources close to him, had always despised Tinubu for his immense power, political sagacity and influence. This is as a result of his arrant jealousy and desperate wish to become a politician and statesman in the mould of Tinubu. But such feat can  never be achieved overnight, according to Tinubu’s loyalists. Unknown to the Ogun State governor, Tinubu had been aware of his desperate and subterranean plots to destroy him and devastate his political empire. A source close to the former governor of Lagos and APC leader, revealed that even before Governor Amosun joined forces with controversial Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and former Vice President (VP), Atiku Abubakar, to destroy Tinubu, the latter had seen it coming.

When Governor Amosun teamed up with Saraki camp, Tinubu was also aware but he simply chose to sit back and watch Governor Amosun in the same manner he has been sitting back to watch former governors of Lagos and Ekiti States, Babatunde Fashola and Kayode Fayemi persistently betray him. Governor Amosun in abject desperation and frenetic bid to bolster Senator Saraki’s treacherous plots against Tinubu and the APC, sent his former Commissioner of Information, Yusuf Olaniyonu, to strengthen the media cum propaganda machinery of the embattle Senate President. While Olaniyonu, who was also a former ThisDay newspaper editor, basks in his new found role as glorified errand boy to Saraki, stated the source, he will do well by himself to tread with caution lest he gets swept by the tsunami that may dawn as retribution for his principals’ Saraki and Governor Amosun’s betrayal of a man who has done nothing but contribute to their emergence as one of Nigeria’s formidable public officers and politicians.
But while camp Tinubu severally tout various reasons for Governor Amosun’s betrayal, several chieftains of the APC argued that, Tinubu is hardly the man he is portrayed to be. Pleading anonymity, they argued that the two-time governor of Lagos state is too overbearing and tyrannical in disposition hence the revolt of the few progressive minds in the party against his suffocating presence. Nobody should blame anyone brave enough to rebel against Tinubu’s domineering influence; such a person should be encouraged and celebrated, they claimed.
