The Department of State Services (DSS) is currently questioning the suspended chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Spokesperson of the Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya, who confirmed this last night, said Bawa honoured DSS invitation after he was suspended from office.

Recall that thelagostimes had earlier reported that president Ahmed Tinubu suspended the EFCC chairman. According to a statement by the office of the secretary to government of the federation (OSGF), the removal of the commission’s chairman is to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.

The president directed Bawa to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the director of Operations in the commission who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Bawa’s suspension is coming barely one week after governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele was suspended by the president.
