Three brothers and their friend have been apprehended by the police in the Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement, identified the three brothers as Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo and Tobi Jagbojagbo, while their accomplice was named Tosin Ogundeko.
According to him, their arrest followed a distress call received at Igbeba divisional headquarters that some armed robbers invaded a Premier Lotto agent’s shop at the Odi Olowo area of Ijebu Ode and made away with his N90,000.
Oyeyemi added that the robbers also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.
He stated that the suspects confessed further that they were all based in Epe but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them by the name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered,” the statement read.
“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended; while one of them, simply identified as Tosin, a.k.a socket, escaped.”
Meanwhile, Ogun Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State CIID for discreet investigation, directing a manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang.
