A car has rammed into a shop at Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, killing a baby and injuring others.
A source told Punch that the vehicle involved in the accident which happened along Ore–Okitipupa road is a Toyota Camry with registration number KSF 77 EZ.
The driver of the Toyota Camry was said to have lost control of the car and swerved off the road before ramming into the shop while trying to avoid hitting a motorcyclist.
The source was quoted to have said: ” The accident was caused by overspeeding on the part of the driver of the car. The driver drove at top speed, rammed into a shop, and killed a baby, leaving others injured.
“The deceased baby was sleeping in the shop before the unfortunate incident happened.”
The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ore, Mr Sikiru Alonge, while confirming the incident, said four persons were involved in the accident, explaining that three persons were injured while one person died on the spot.
He said: “The injured victims have been taken to the General Hospital in Ore while the corpse of the baby had been deposited at the morgue.”
