Veteran Yoruba Actor ‘Pa Kasumu’ Finally Laid To Rest (Photos)

Yoruba movie icon Kayode Odumosu popularly known as Pa Kasumu has finally been laid to rest.

Thelagostimes gathered that Pa Kasumu who died at the age of 66 after battling a long-term sickness, was laid to rest in Abeokuta Ogun state on Monday, May 11.

It was gathered that the private ceremony was attended by just a few family members in line with the COVID-19 directives for burying a loved one.

Thelagostimes recalls that the Yoruba movie veteran died on March 1st, 2020.

Before his death, the actor had gained the attention of Nigerians on social media due to the deterioration of his health and how he had a difficult time gathering funds to take care of his health.

Popular actress and colleague, Foluke Daramola-Salako, who stood behind the veteran actor during the challenging period, shared images of his burial via an Instagram post.

Born in Oyo state, the late actor was from Ogun state and he started his acting career in 1968 at the age of 15. He was baptised through a stage play titled Iyawo Orun (1968).

Pa Kasumu was a household name in the Yoruba movie industry until he was diagnosed with biventricular heart failure in 2013.

He was one of the beneficiaries of the ‘Nolly Veteran SOS Project 2019’. An initiative launched by Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola as a lifeline for ailing and ageing Nollywood veterans.
