French President, Emmanuel Macron, on Wednesday applauded the African energy after his visit to the New Afrika Shrine, run by Femi Kuti.

In a tweet on his Twitter handle, Macron shared a video expressing his feeling of the African energy about 17 years ago in Lagos when he was  23 years old.

He maintained that the height of energy he enjoyed then had not changed and would have hoped that many Europeans get to know about it without prejudice and misery.

He said,” This is African energy. The one I discovered here in Lagos when I was 23. The one I am glad to see is still thriving several years later.

“The one I hope many Europeans will get to know. The one that is far from the African prejudice of misery.”

The video showed the French President having fun as Femi Kuti sang. He was surrounded by the governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, Yeni Kuti and others.

Macron is on a two-day visit to Nigeria.
