It is no longer news that Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode has lost the battle of wits with the hitherto unknown Babajide Sanwo-Olu who emerged from nowhere to clinch the APC governorship ticket in the state.
Indeed, it has been a whirlwind few months for Jide who, until fate thrust him into the limelight, held forth as the modest and unassuming boss of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC).
But within the twinkle of an eye, he had obtained the backing of the lion of Bourdillon, been endorsed by 52 of 57 LCDA chairmen, and survived executive attacks on his mental health to emerge the overwhelming choice as APC flagbearer.
Understandably, newspapers, blogs and social media is awash with praises and long biographies of the man who was handpicked by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to knock Ambode off his perch. However, next to nothing is known about his other rib Ibijoke.
Already been touted as the next first lady of Lagos,. Dr (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu is a consummate woman who has held forth in the professional and domestic arenas for several decades. Now in her middle age, she has four children, all grown and ready to support their parents in their political adventure.
A Christian like her husband, Ibijoke is also a renowned medical practitioner of repute. She has ploughed several decades of selfless service into the health profession, especially in the areas of general health and mothering women.
She has worked at Harvey Road Health Centre and Maternity for a long time and even rose to become the former medical director of the high class institutions which caters to the health needs of the upper middle class and above.
