The Kano State Police Command has sealed Rimi Mining Site located in Sumaila Local Governments Area of the state in strict compliance with the federal government directives.
The Federal Government had, through the office of the Inspector General of the Police last week suspended mining activities in some parts of the country due to security reasons.
A statement by the police local image maker, DSP Abdullahi Haruna in Kano disclosed that “adequate deployment of policemen was already made at the site to ensure compliance.”
The police terse statement also explained that the action was “in compliance with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s resolution to suspend mining activities in some parts of the country “.
DSP Haruna further enjoined members of the general public to keep off until the Federal Government makes further consideration.
