A former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Anyim Pium Anyim, is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Thelagostimes gathered that Anyim was grilled on Sunday for several hours in connection with the fund which was traced to a company in which he was a director.

He reportedly arrived at the EFCC office in the afternoon on Sunday and was quizzed for over six hours.

Sources said Anyim, who is still in custody late on Sunday night, may be detained till Monday.

Anyim is said to be answering questions by the anti-graft agency over a case of alleged money laundering linked to Stella Oduah, a former minister of aviation.

While the details of the current interrogation are still sketchy, according to sources, the EFCC is reportedly uncovering details of N780 million belonging to the aviation ministry said to have been traced to a company in which Anyim has interest.

The detention of the former SGF is coming days after Oduah was named in the Pandora Papers as one of 10 Nigerians hiding their wealth in tax havens.
