A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele bail.

Thelagostimes reports that the court, on Tuesday, granted Emefiele bail in the sum of N20 million and a surety in like sum.

This followed a two-count charge of illegal possession of firearm levelled against him by the Department of State Service, DSS.

Emefiele’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu, had, after his client pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge, applied for his bail, contending that the offense for which Emefiele was charged is bailable.

Recall that the DSS, about a month ago, picked up Emefiele after he was suspended by President Bola Tinubu.
