The incumbent Governor of Lagos state, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been declared winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner at about 1:16am.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, declared Sanwo-Olu winner of the election having satisfied the provisions of the electoral act and the constitution.

Thelagostimes reports that Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 762,134 votes, defeating Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party who scored 312,329 votes, followed by Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor with 62,449 votes.

The governor won in 19 of the 20 Local Governments in the state while Rhodes-Vivour won only in Amuwo Odofin.
