Residents of Baruwa axis of Ayobo Ipaja, Lagos State are currently in panic, following a gas explosion that occurred in the area on Friday.

According to reports, the gas explosion happened around 1 am on Friday – Christmas eve.

Although details of the explosion were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development, Mrs Bola Shobowale, confirmed the development to Punch on the telephone.

She did not state whether there were casualties in the incident or not.

However, residents of the area, who took to social media to seek help, hinted that there are casualties.
