Court Sentences Teacher To Prison For Flogging Pupil To Death
Children, S*xual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka, Anambra State has sentenced a teacher, Mrs Faith Nwoye, to 21 years imprisonment.
It was gathered that Nwoye, who is a staff of Landmark International School Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State flogged a nine-year-old student, named Henry to death.
In a condolence visit, commissioner for Education in the state, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, who was represented by Director of Schools in the Ministry of Education, Mrs Ifeoma Onyeneke, expressed despair that one of the State’s hopefuls was gone in a manner that could have been avoided.
She lamented that the little boy would still be alive if he was enrolled in an approved school with qualified teachers.
