Ex-NAPIMS GGM, Dafe Sejebor, Others Arrested In The US For Sex Trafficking
Dafe Sejebor, the former Group General Manager (GGM) of the Nationwide Petroleum Funding Administration Companies (NAPIMS) has been arrested in the US alongside dozens of individuals in an undercover, human-trafficking sting carried out within the Katy space, Houston Chronicle reviews.
Houston Police officer, Sgt. John Wall stated throughout a press convention that 22 native, state and federal businesses partnered up for “Operation Tri Point” over the interval of March 19-28 to sort out human trafficking in Katy and Fort Bend County.
Wall disclosed that 47 folks had been arrested in complete; 27 of whom had been females, 20 had been males. Eight had been confirmed victims and eight had been charged with human-trafficking associated offenses.
“we know is that human trafficking is occurring. It’s not just an inner-city problem,” Wall stated. “It’s occurring out in the suburbs. It’s occurring in smaller communities.”
Officials said some suspects faced various other charges, including possession of a controlled substance, prostitution, sexual assault of a child, tampering with evidence, and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Wall said despite the large number of arrests, the most rewarding part of the investigation was that authorities rescued two minors, the youngest was 16-years-old. Officers said most people who become trafficking victims are domestic. Most recruiting occurs online.
“If you think about it, children (and) young adults spend an enormous amount of time on social media, and they are vulnerable. They don’t understand the risk involved in talking to individuals they don’t know on that type of forum.
“During this sting…law enforcement and victims services worked tirelessly to identify and recover victims of trafficking, apprehend the perpetrators responsible, and target predators who think buying sex is OK,” Wall said.
