Former PFN Chairman, Bishop Lanre Obembe Dies At 63

Archbishop Lanre Obembe, founder of El Shaddai Bible Church, Ikoyi, Lagos, has died at the age of 63.

Family sources disclosed that Obembe died of an undisclosed ailment on Tuesday.

The 63-year-old was said to have been battling an undisclosed ailment before he finally breathed his last.

He was a former Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Lagos state chapter.

The Nation reports that his demise has thrown the christian community into a state of shock with many declaring it unbelievable.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolence to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) over the death of Bishop Lanre Obembe.

The President in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, described the late Bishop as an inspiration to many young people.

“President Buhari sends heartfelt condolence to the family, relations, friends, and to Christendom in general, on the passage of Bishop Lanre Obembe of El Shaddai Bible Church, with headquarters in Lagos.

“The President believes that his footprints would be indelible on the sands of time, and urges all those who mourn the gifted preacher to be comforted by the fact that Obembe served God and man with great zeal, and such labour of love never go unrewarded.

“May his soul rest in peace and his good works be sustained by those he left behind,” the President said.
