[JUST IN] Kyari’s Death: Ganduje Fires Commissioner Over ‘Unguarded’ Remarks
Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has sacked his commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji with immediate effect.
The dismissal was contained in a a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba.
Magaji’s appointment was terminated because of an unbecoming utterances he made on social media about the late chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.
He said as a public servant, such untoward comments in full glare of the public would bring scorn and disrepute to the state government.
He noted that commissioner ought to have shown deference to the office he held and desist from such ignoble act.
He added that the Kano government will not condone the practice of using official positions to settle personal scores.
“The action of a public servant, personal or otherwise reflects back on the government and therefore, the Ganduje administration would not tolerate people in official capacities engaging in personal vendetta or otherwise,” the statement read.
