JUST IN: Nigeria Records 51 New Cases As COVID-19 Toll Hits 493
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that the country has confirmed fifty one fresh cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)
NCDC made the disclosure in its daily situation report of COVID-19 on its official twitter page on Friday evening.
According to the agency, of the 51 new cases —which is the highest toll in a single day since the country recorded it index case in February — 32 are confirmed in Lagos, 6 in Kano, 5 in Kano, 2 in Abuja, 2 in Oyo, 2 in Kastina, 1 In Ogun and 1 in Ekiti.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 493.
However, out of the 493, 159 have been discharged after they were certified free of the virulent infection.
Seventeen deaths have so far been recorded.
