Officials of the Oyo State Police Command have detained the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, Mr Abdullahi Fasasi.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, Fasasi was invited by the police on Wednesday and has been detained since then.
It was gathered that the principal’s detention is in connection with the stampede that occurred at the school on Wednesday.
A relative to the principal told Vanguard that Fasasi was invited by the police around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and honoured the invitation.
The relative who pleaded anonymity explained that the principal was detained upon arrival.
He added that Fasasi is being held at the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, in the Iyaganku area.
Meanwhile, information from the state police headquarters revealed that Naomi Silekunola, an estranged wife of the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and popular Ibadan-based radio owner Oriyomi Hamzat, have been invited for questioning by the police.
