Katsina Governor’s Mother-In-Law Regains Freedom
The mother-in-law of the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has been released by her abductors.
The police authorities in the state confirmed this in a statement on Friday, one week after 80-year-old Hauwa Yusuf was abducted from her residence in Katsina metropolis.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the command, Gambo Isah, who issued the statement, the governor’s mother-in-law was confirmed to be hale and hearty.
The command spokesman added that the governor’s relative has since been reunited with her family after necessary medical checkups.
“The Katsina State Police Command is informing the general public that, the old woman has been released by her abductors yesterday (Thursday) at about 16:00hrs,” the statement reads.
Although the spokesman did not disclose whether suspects were arrested, he however appealed to the people for their cooperation and support for the police in their resolve to put an end to cases of banditry in the state.
