Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) has appointed Kunle Ade-Ojo, a former Executive Director, as its new Managing Director.

Kunle is a son of the founder and Chairman of TNL, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo. His appointment has seen Mr. Chandrasheker K. Thampy, who was appointed in 2007, step aside as the managing director of the organisation but would remain a member of the company’s board of directors.

As obtained on the company website, Kunle, a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Reading, UK,  possesses “a vast knowledge of the automobile business, having worked extensively with Toyota USA, before returning to assume the position of business strategic development manager at the automobile giant’s Nigerian unit.”

He also holds an MSc. in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University United Kingdom.

“As a global management associate, he had worked extensively in different operational departments while at Toyota Motor Sales, USA and returned to Nigeria as the Business and Strategic Development Manager of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited.

“He rose through the ranks and was the executive director until his promotion on May 1st, 2014 to the post of managing director of the company.
