One person was confirmed dead while three adult males sustained varying degrees of injuries after a one-storey building under construction collapsed in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

The coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Lagos Territorial Office, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the development in a statement.

The incident was said to have occurred at 96 Ishaga Road, directly opposite the Idi Araba Central Mosque, on Sunday afternoon.

“So far, one person has been confirmed dead, while three others have been rescued alive.

“Search and rescue operations are ongoing continue,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Shakiru Amodu, also confirmed the death of the recovered victim.
