Protest In Ibadan As Stray Bullet Kills WAEC Candidate

Some youths in Ibadan, on Tuesday, protested at Oyo State Government Secretariat over the killing of a student by a stray bullet allegedly fired by a policeman.
DailyPost reports that the student, said to be writing the ongoing West African Examinations Council (WAEC) was hit by the stay bullet around Gbagi market road in the early hours of Tuesday.
It was gathered that the student was on his way to write the examination in company with his sibling and father when the incident occurred.
The stray bullet was reportedly fired by a police officer who was pursuing a suspect. The officers were attempting to flatten the tyres of the suspect’s vehicle when one of the bullets hit the student inside his dad’s car.
The victim was immediately rushed to Welfare Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to reports, some angry residents protested against the killing of the student by taking the student’s lifeless body to the Oyo State Government Secretariat, calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene.
