Residents, Commuters Stranded As Flood Takes Over Major Areas In Lagos (Videos)
Following a continuous downpour on Wednesday and Thursday, flood has taken over major areas in Lagos such as Ikeja, Agege, Agungi and other Lekki environs.
This has left many residents and commuters stranded as a lot of people had to struggle to get themselves to work, amid the gridlock caused by the flood.
Thelagostimes gathered that a lot of vehicle owners had to park their cars as they could not manoeuvre through the heavy flood.
Our correspondent who visited Awori street in Agege area of Lagos state discovered that a lot of vehicles parked had been submerged in water.
Residents of the area who have pleaded for intervention from the state government a number of times, were seen scooping water from their various houses. A lot of them who didn’t know what to do just watched in sadness as the flood swept off some of their belongings.
Meanwhile, residents who experienced the flooding took to micro blogging site, Twitter to share pictures and videos of how the flood affected their areas.
