Senate President Bukola Saraki Rescues Stranded Mother from LUTH with ₦500k Donation
The Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki once again showed he is equally adept at both political and humanitarian rescue missions. Fresh from saving himself and some of his colleagues from a tricky political situation, he displayed his humane side by making a personal donation of 500k to the woman stranded in LUTH over a 306k hospital bill.
The woman, Esther Akinola, and her husband had been running from pillar to post trying to raise the money to pay the hospital bills after she was delivered of a premature baby through Caesarean Section.
Unable to find the ₦306,200 balance, Esther and Abiodun decided to seek public assistance in the hope that some good Samaritans would help them out of their plight.
Unknown to them the senate president was swiftly made aware of their situation through a journalist Wale Olaleye and speedily came to their aid. He swiftly forked out ₦500k of his personal money to help the couple discharge their debt with a little left over for upkeep of the baby.
The overjoyed couple could not contain their relief and gratitude as they heartily thanked the senate president and other Nigerians who quickly rallied round them in their hour of need.
