Super Eagles Promised $1,000 for Each Goal in Brazil
Nigeria’s Pillar of Sport, Donatus Agu-Ejidike, on Monday said he would give the Super Eagles 1,000 dollars for every goal scored at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Agu-Ejidike made the pledge while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
He said that he would be going to the World Cup to contribute his little quota to the success of the national team.
“As the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, I want to contribute my little quota to energising the team.
“In this regard, each goal scored by the Super Eagles at the World Cup in Brazil will attract 1,000 dollars.
“So, we want them to score as many goals as possible to get more dollars,’’ he said.
Agu-Ejidike pledged his office’s commitment to support any individual or organisation working toward sports development.
According to him, we are not relenting in our efforts to do everything possible to develop sports and we will continue to partner with any organisation or individual that wants to develop sports.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria’s Super Eagles with 31 other countries would feature at the mundial which holds between June 12 and July 13.
