Supreme Court Sacks Ihedioha, Declares Uzodinma Imo Governor
The supreme court has declare All Progressives Congress (APC) Hope Uzodinma as winner of Imo state governorship election held March 9 2019
The apex court sacked Emeka Ihedioha In a unanimous decision on Tuesday
A seven-man panel held that Ihedioha did not win majority of votes cast in the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Ihedioha winner of the election but Uzodinma challenged the outcome of the election in court.
Ihedioha ran under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Uzodinma contested under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the judge who read the judgement, ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ihedioha and give a fresh one to his APC rival.
