Suspected Transformer Vandal Electrocuted In Osogbo

An unidentified man was, on Monday evening, electrocuted as he attempted to vandalise an electricity transformer in Osogbo.

According to sources from the community, the man died when power was suddenly restored to the transformer as he was attempting to steal an electrical cable.

Thelagostimes gathered that the transformer is located at Kolade Estate, Onward area, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo.

It was gathered that the corpse of the man has been removed by the appropriate authority.

Thelagostimes recalls that about a week ago, a yet-to-be identified man was also confirmed dead after he was electrocuted after attempting to vandalise a transformer along Osiri road in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Some residents who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the suspect succeeded in cutting two out of the three armoured cables but unexpectedly met his untimely death when Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Company suddenly restored power in the area around 4 am.
