Two Killed In Farmers-Herdsmen Clashes In Jigawa
The Jigawa State Police Command has said that at least two persons were killed in two different clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state.
Spokesman of the command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed this in a statement.
He said the incident occurred in Taura and Malam-Madori local government areas.
“On 23/12/2021 at about 1330hrs the village head of Tofa in Taura Local Government Area reported to police that there was a clash between a farmer and a herdsman in his village.
“As a result, a 21-year-old Shu’aibu Nasiru of Tofa village was stabbed with a sharp object suspected to be a knife on his left chest in his farmland and died instantly”, the statement reads.
He said a police team was mobilized to the scene, the corpse was taken to General Hospital Ringim for medical examination and was confirmed dead while two persons were arrested.
