(VIDEO) Tension As Pipeline Explodes In Abule Egba
A pipeline at Abule Egba area of Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, exploded in the early hours of Wednesday.
TheLagostimes gathered that the fire, which started at about 3:00 am, was caused by activities of pipeline vandals.
Some witnesses to the incident said cars, houses including shops were destroyed in the fire.
Also, residents in the area have called for response from relevant authorities as the fire is said to be spreading wide.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA’s) response unit in a tweet, said the explosion occurred due to bunkering activities in the area.
Situation report regarding the oil spillage at Tipper Garage Bus Stop Abule Egba
On arrival at the incident scene, the spillage from what appears to be bunkering activities came in contact with an ignitable source.
