Two persons have been feared dead, following a clash between officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and some thugs in Lagos Island.
Thelagostimes gathered that the NDLEA officials engaged the thugs in a gun duel during a raid on camps of some drug peddlers in the area on Saturday morning.
It was learned that the officials of the anti-narcotic agency were trying to arrest and seize hard drugs when they were attacked by thugs.
A Twitter user, @dammiedammie35, who posted a video of the incident wrote: “NDLEA is on Lagos Island at moment and they’re having a serious disagreement with the citizens there, 3-5people are reported de•d already by gunsh0ts.NDLEA officers are using sophisticated ammunitions against people running with stones”.
Thelagostimes recalls that this is coming few days after music stars, Zinoleesky and Mohbad, were picked up by the agency for being in possession of hard drugs.
Even though they have been released, several Nigerians queried why they were manhandled and arrested without a warrant.
