Nigeria Records 595 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Now 34854

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has recorded 595 new COVID-19 cases.

The disease has totaled 34854 cases with 14292 patients discharged. A total of 769 deaths have been recorded so far, while the active cases total stands at 19,793.

Lagos recorded the highest number of cases on Thursday with 156 cases. Ondo followed with 95 cases while Rivers also had 53 cases recorded.

According to the NCDC, the 595 new cases were reported from 24 states- Lagos (156), Ondo (95), Rivers (53), Abia (43), Oyo (38), Enugu (29), Edo (24), FCT(23), Kaduna (20), Akwa Ibom (17), Anambra (17), Osun (17), Ogun (14), Kano (13), Imo (11), Delta (6), Ekiti (5), Gombe (4), Plateau (4), Cross River (2), Adamawa (1), Bauchi (1), Jigawa (1), Yobe (1)

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 13,097, followed by Abuja (2,7361, Oyo (1,989), Edo (1,874), Rivers (1,480), Delta (1,404), Kano (1,331), Ogun (1,146), Kaduna (1,087), Ondo (865), Katsina (669), Ebonyi (646), Plateau (595), Borno (593), Enugu (560), Gombe (537), Bauchi (522), Abia (456), Kwara (422), Imo (420).

Osun State has recorded 328 cases, Jigawa (322), Bayelsa (318), Nasarawa (254), Akwa Ibom (162), Sokoto (153), Niger (145), Benue (143), Anambra (118), Adamawa (111), Kebbi (88), Zamfara (76), Ekiti (72), Yobe (63), Taraba (30), Cross River (12) while Kogi state has recorded 5 cases only.
