Pelumi Nubi Finally Arrives Lagos After 68-Day Solo Drive From London

Pelumi Nubi, the content creator who embarked on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, has arrived in Nigeria to a heroic welcome.

Thelagostimes gathered that after 68 days of driving from London, Nubi arrived the main gate of the University of Lagos at 2:25 p.m. where she was greeted with carnival-like performances courtesy of students of Creative Arts Department and University of Lagos International School (ISL), as well as cheers from the crowd of admirers and well wishers.

In her remarks, Nubi, whose joy knew no bounds for the rousing welcome and celebration accorded her, expressed gratitude to God for her safety. She also appreciated her parents and family, government of the countries toured, the online community and every stakeholder for the love and support shown her.

She was first received at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on behalf of the Lagos State Government by the Hon Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka and the Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe.

Her second stop was at Badagry from which she headed to Unilag for her homecoming celebration.

Speaking to Channels Television, she said, “I feel so good to be home. Honestly, the homecoming has been so amazing, and really welcoming.

“Honestly, Nigeria is definitely home to me, so it’s more than amazing. I expected the homecoming, but this has been incredible, so thank you so much, I am really grateful, and I can’t wait for the celebration that is waiting for me at Unilag.”

Nubi, who began the trip on January 31, was involved in an accident while on the journey.
