Libra Motors, a transport company in Nigeria, has been called out by some prospective Corps members for abandoning them on the road, amid the insecurity issues in the country.

A source told Thelagostimes that Libra Motors’ driver, who was taking the prospective National Youth Service Corps members to their Abia State Orientation camp from the Iyana Ipaja park, got to Umuahia at about 7:40pm and said that he could not proceed to the camp for security reasons.

However, the driver was alleged to have left the vehicle on the street at their parking lot beside the APC Secretariat and had said that was where they would sleep.

The prospective Corps members were reportedly left alone to look for a hotel by themselves, while the driver refused to drive them to the hotel.

“The driver said he’s tired, so we went by ourselves. We were left stranded because the hotels we were seeing were not okay. They looked like abandoned houses and didn’t look safe,” the source said.

According to the source, Libra Motors’ management did not intervene in any way. All the prospective Corps members who were occupants of the bus were reportedly subjected to a lot of stress and danger without any show of concern from the transport company.

The source disclosed that a tricycle man they didn’t know was the one who carried them around in a strange environment.

Meanwhile, Thelagostimes reached out to Libra Motors and a feedback was promised. However, as at the time of filing this report, there was no response yet from the transport company.
