As part of engagements for the forthcoming 2023 general election, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, met with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Thelagostimes gathered that Tinubu arrived the CAN headquarters at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abuja in company of his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his Ebonyi state and Imo states counterparts, Gov Dave Umahi and Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Also on his entourage were the former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzo Kalu; former Governor of Benue state, and the Minister of Special Duties, Senator Gorge Akume among others.

It was gathered that the meeting with the CAN leaders is to afford the APC candidate the opportunity to present his plans and also respond to some issues that have trailed the APC’s presidential campaign, among which is the Muslim-Muslim ticket that the Christian body had kicked against.

Speaking during the interactive session, Tinubu assured them that his choice of Kashim Shettima as running mate has nothing to do with religion. He equally emphasised that the same way his administration did not discriminate against anyone either on basis of tribe, religion or gender as Lagos State Governor, he would not start such in office as president.
