21 Arrested Over Killing Of 7 ‘Witches’ In Adamawa
The Police have confirmed the arrest of 21 suspects in connection with the killing of seven persons over witchcraft in a village in Adamawa.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Adamu made this known during a news conference on Monday in Yola. He confirmed arrest of the suspects from Dasin Bwate, Fufore Local Government Area, of the state.
Thelagostimes gathered that seven people were killed in Dasin Bwate village in Fufore LGA of the state last Tuesday over witchcraft allegation.
The police spokesman in the state, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, who confirmed the development, said the team found the seven unidentified corpses in one of the houses in the village.
Nguroje had pleaded with the neighbouring villages to assist the police with useful information on the whereabouts of the residents of Dasin Bwate who had deserted the community as at that time.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner, on Monday, disclosed that the command was also able to dislodge and apprehend more than 400 radical armed Shilla Boys, who were terrorising people in Yola and environs, and that the suspects were charged and prosecuted accordingly.
He further explained that the police had arrested more than 121 kidnappers from across the state, and rescued some kidnapped Victims.
