In a bid to address the burning issues on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and ease of doing business in Nigeria particularly amongst the young and older women, a digital marketing firm, Alternative Advert, in partnership with the National Association of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (NASME) will be empowering over 5,000 women in business with information, tools and funds to thrive.

Tagged SME Fast Track 2018 (Women in Business Edition), the Convener and chief executive officer of Alternative Advert, Mr. Emmanuel Nwafor disclosed that this year’s edition is exclusively packaged for women and focused on meeting Sustainable Development Goals that are women centered.

“This year event is going to be the largest SME gathering of Women in Business in Nigeria. The global community in the world over is now working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which include ending extreme poverty, decent work and economic growth, water and sanitation, affordable clean energy and providing quality and an all inclusive education among others.

“The SDGs form a universally agreed blueprint and have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worlds’ poorest. Adding that there is an increasing urgency for business to incorporate women’s empowerment considerations into corporate strategies, both to ensure sustainable growth and to demonstrate leadership through values.

“The challenge is huge and so are the positive impacts this would have on poverty alleviation on Nigeria and Africa economy”, he said.

Meanwhile, the event which is themed: “Women in Business: Challenges and Opportunities”, powered by Alternative Adverts and supported by NASME, amongst other key players and partners in the industry is scheduled to hold on 21st November, 2018 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at D’podium International Convention Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

“We believe SMEs play a key role by way of creating new opportunities and frontiers to foster women’s economic empowerment and inclusion.

“We believe one of the most effective ways to promote women’s empowerment, especially in markets or value chains that are traditionally male dominated is to invest and make deliberate effort in time, money and other resources necessary to make the real impact in niche ventures that are adjacent to the core business of the enterprise”, Nwafor added.
