Ex-Governor Seriake Dickson Wins Bayelsa Senatorial By-Election

The former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson, has clinched the Bayelsa West Senatorial District seat in the National Assembly.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the Dec. 5, Bayelsa West senatorial by-election.

INEC Returning Officer Prof. Okechukwu Okeke, of the Federal University Otuoke, (FUO) said that Dickson polled 115,257 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Peremobowei Ebebi of All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 17,500 votes.

“I hereby declare Seriake Dickson winner of this special primary election for the Bayelsa West senatorial district,” PDP Returning Officer, Nicholas Obhiseh, declared.
