Ludwin Florez Nole, a 27-year-old footballer, has reportedly died of heart failure after drinking a glass of cold water moments after a football match which prompted an unusual cardiovascular reaction.

UK Sun reports that Ludwin Florez Nole had just finished a football match for his local team, Los Rangers based in Sullana Province, northwestern of Peru, when he started feeling sick as he headed home.

Reacting after the incident, his wife Flores revealed he took an ice cold glass of water and “shortly afterwards he started to have chest pains so I took him to a nearby clinic, but he died on the way”.

“The doctor told me that he suffered a heart attack because he drank too much cold water while his body was still hot,” his wife was quoted as saying to the local media.
