The Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has charged Lagos residents to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in order to continue the good works of the State.

This was disclosed at the Prayer Session organised by the League of Imams in Epe Division for the endorsement of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for the second term, and the development impacts on the Statement made by the Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Representing the Governor, The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Rev’d Kolawole Verralls said that endorsement is mouth work but the real action is PVC, adding that the road to the second term is PVC.
He explained that with the collection of the PVC, the action can be done and the mandate be given for the continuity of the progress in the State.
Meanwhile, The Governor attributed the peace and progress and other monumental development enjoyed in the state to the Prayers for the state, adding that the religious peace and co-existence in the state is as a result of the contributions of all the religious leaders in the State.

He explained that the impacts of the religious leaders are profound due to the Structure put in place by the Government to make religious problem be at a very low level.
“We have a body called Nigeria Inter-religious Council (NIREC) which was started at the National level, but Lagos is the only state that has it in existence”.
“Recently, the Governor has inaugurated this council at every local government and for that reason, every religious crisis that might have even turned to a problem has been nipped at the bud at the local level”.
“This is not to say that the religious crisis doesn’t come up but it is always nipped at the bud because there is a structure called NIREC”.
“Imams and Pastors are represented in equal number at the Council so that when there is a problem between two churches, an imam is part of those who will proffer solution to the problem and vice versa”.
He pointed out that the League of Imam is setting the record again that Lagos depends on God to the point that every prayer said by Lagosians will continue to move the state government forward.
Speaking also, The Balogun of Epe, Mr Lanre Razaq said that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has done beyond imagination and hence asked Lagosians to give him another chance, adding that the experience he gathers in the first term will make him a better Governor in the second term.
“He has done wonderfully well. Everybody can see it. The Deaf and Blind can feel the rain if they are outside and its raining. Nobody in Lagos state will deny the great performance of the Governor and for this, we need to pray for him for God to continue to strengthen him and continue to give him the wisdom, the knowledge, the energy and the good health to continue a good job.
He also described Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a great leader, who sacrificed and showed commitment to the development of the country and also living up to the tenets of the definition of leadership as the art of creating confidence by Nacros in his book dynamic business management.
