JUST IN: Kano Governor Ganduje Suspends Lockdown, Bans Street Hawking

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has suspended the lockdown imposed on the state to limit the spread of COVID-19.

According to a statement released by the State government on Thursday, Ganduje also banned street hawking and begging in the state.

The Governor also reinforced the compulsory use of face masks for final year students who are to resume school.

According to the statement, all civil servants from level 12 are also expected to resume work from Monday, July 6th and are to work from 9 a.m till 2 p.m.

Ganduje said during a COVID-19 Press Conference that the suspension became imperative after the state recorded significant reduction in number of cases. He however warned residents against not using face masks saying the state government won’t take such offenses lightly with erring residents.
