Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have prevented an outbreak of violence after a truck crushed a masquerade to death in Mushin area of the State, TVC News reports.
The incident reportedly occurred along the Isolo road around 2:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Thelagostimes learnt that the truck laden with plywood crushed the masquerader around the market axis.
The masquerade died immediately at the accident scene while two others who were also hit allegedly passed out.
In an attempt to lynch the driver, angry traditionalists set the truck ablaze.
The police however released teargas to disperse them which caused the protesters and other road users to scamper for safety.
