· Why Ex-Delta Governor Now Attends Every Available Shindig

The seasons pass but James Onanefe Ibori remains grand, like the nurturant guardian whose tenderness and warmth blesses the land. Yes, James turned 60 today. In 60 years, he has blossomed into a man of affluence. 60 years may be a tiny fraction of time, yet the top politician looms large across generations into eternity.

The story of his exquisite manhood resonates with a pleasant peal. To his staff, family, friends, beneficiaries and other loved ones, his smiles have been their anchor, his shoulders their rampart of comfort.

However, It would be recalled that the former governor of Delta state, was sentenced to 13 years in jail by a London Judge for stealing government funds in Nigeria. Soon after his incarceration, political pundits, rivals and associates wrote him off. They felt he had come to the end of his era as one of Nigeria’s most powerful political godfathers.

They were wrong to think so of Ibori. Not only did he call the shots in Delta from his jail cell in London, United Kingdom, upon his release, at the completion of his 13-year sentence, James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, has bounced back with full force.

But his post-incarceration political exploits are hardly the cause of marvel at the moment, Delta and Nigeria’s high society circuits pulsate as you read with gossip and urban legend about Ibori’s newfound penchant for partying and living out loud. Since he returned from prison, Ibori has turned into a party god.

The ex-Delta governor never shies from social engagement of any kind; with his new with Senami, he has been gallivanting about town, hopping from one high profile shindig to another. Mention any party and Ibori would be there in his full glory.

The former governor seems to have developed a deep love for partying and the limelight; pundits argue that he can’t be blamed for his newfound fetish. “You can’t really blame him because he’s not doing anything at the moment. He’s very free and don’t be surprised if you see him at party in your neighborhood, he’s just living his life,” said a very close associate to the former governor.
