Gunmen have invaded Birshin Fulani, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis and allegedly kidnapped a nursing mother, Rukayyat Odedoyin.

Thelagostimes gathered that this attack is coming barely two weeks after suspected gunmen killed two people, including a senior staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi in that area.

According to neighbours, the kidnappers who were about 10 in number invaded the area about 12am and forced themselves into the building by breaking the main door before gaining entrance into the house.

After succeeding in breaking into the house, they were said to have gone away with the woman whose husband had just been transferred to Kaduna State.

Some residents of the area stated that they started hearing sporadic gunshots from the woman’s compound which woke them up but before they could alert the police they had already escaped.

The development led to a protest by members of the community over the state of insecurity in the area.
