A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Yaba area of Lagos State.

Thelagostimes gathered that the building is located on Akanbi Crescent, near the main gate of University of Lagos, UNILAG.

It reportedly collapsed onto a building beside it on Saturday afternoon.

An eyewitness disclosed that a part of the building had collapsed late last year, but the construction did not stop, despite being warned by the police.

Punch reports that so far, only a 16-year-old boy and another adult male have come out of the rubble while there is an unconfirmed number still trapped in the collapsed building.

Meanwhile, Director General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed the incident.
