A mysterious fire broke out on Friday evening, consuming a morgue belonging to St. Francis Xavier Parish Agagbe in Gwer West local government area of Benue State.

An eyewitness disclosed that all the corpses deposited in the mortuary were burnt beyond recognition.

Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, a Superintendent of Police said that six corpses were burnt.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
