Court Grants Sowore Bail After 52 Days In DSS Custody

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the release of Omoyele Sowore, the convener of RevolutionNow protest, from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) immediately.

Sowore-happy

TheLagostimes gathered that judgment was delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, who asked the DSS to release Sowore on bail.

Justice Taiwo reportedly gave the ruling after listening to the arguments of Sowore’s lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) and the prosecuting counsel.

Justice Taiwo asked Sowore to drop his international passport with the court within 48 hours, to guarantee his availability for trial as part of bail conditions.

TheLagostimes recalls that the Federal Government filed seven counts of treasonable felony and money laundering against Sowore last week.
